Cougars’ soccer earns a third-place at the 3A state tournament while volleyball places seventh; Crosspoint boys just misses trophy
The Central Kitsap girls soccer team earned a third-place trophy, its first in the program, Saturday at the 3A state tournament.
The Cougars beat Lakeside 1-0 at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup on a goal by Marielle Arnold off a feed from Madisyn Daibo in the 23rd minute and that was enough to clinch the win as the defense shut down Lakeside the rest of the way.
The Cougars volleyball team placed seventh at the 3A tournament in Yakima, beating Seattle Prep 26-24, 25-18, 25-15. It’s the second trophy for the program after placing fifth in 2006.
Crosspoint boys soccer just missed out on a trophy when the Warriors lost to Riverside Christian 3-1 in the third-place match in the 2B state boys soccer tournament at Sunset Chev Stadium.
