Nathan Adrian earned another silver medal, this time in the 50-meter freestyle, Friday at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.

Not only did the Bremerton native earn Team USA a medal, he kept himself on the national team with a sub-22 second time. He’s been on the team for more than 10 years. Adrian went head-to-head in the finals with Bruno Fratus of Brazil and fellow American Michael Chadwick. Fratus out-touched the field in a time of 21.61 to Adrian’s 21.87. Chadwick touched in 21.99.

The sub-22 second time was Adrian’s first of the year and keeps his 11-year streak alive. His all-time best in the event was in 2015 in 21.37.
