North Kitsap senior Danya Wallis was named a Washington Interscholastic Activities Association athlete of the week for May 20-26 thanks to her performance at the state tennis tournament.

Wallis won her fourth straight Class 2A girls singles championship last week at the Nordstrom Tennis Center at the University of Washington, becoming the first West Sound player and Olympic League player to accomplish the feat. Wallis was also the first player in the state to win four titles since 2015. Her points also helped the Vikings earn the team title.

The WIAA awards athletes of the week to varsity athletes who show an outstanding performance in their sport.
