Central Kitsap senior Brittany Kwon set a course record on the way to winning her third state golf championship Wednesday.
Kwon shot a second-day score of 65 at Indian Canyon Golf Course in the Class 3A tournament in Spokane.

Kwon’s two-day total score was 138, 10 strokes ahead of runner-up Lauryn Nguyen of West Seattle (74-74-148). Also, Bainbridge’s Kendall Havill finished tied for 19th (87-80-167).
Kwon wasn’t the only area golfer to finish in the top 10. Alex Weirth of Crosspoint tied for eighth in the boys 1B/2B tourney at Hangman Valley Golf Course in Spokane. Weirth shot an 81 Wednesday to go with his 79 on Tuesday for a two-day score of 160. Teammate Ethan Heydel finished 16th (84-86-170).
In 2A girls, Olympic’s Brilee Triggs finished 20th (96-84-189), Bremerton’s Alyssa Ronquillo tied for 27th (98-87-189), Delaney Olson of Kingston tied for 31st (94-97-191) at Horn Rapids Golf Course in Richland. North Mason’s Eric Jones tied for 17th in 2A boys at Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland with a score of 155 (79-76). Bryce Kahle of Bremerton finished 36th (81-83-164).

At Liberty Lake Golf Course, Garett Betzing of Klahowya tied for 25th (84-83-167), Aaron Phillips placed 37th (83-91-174) and Kate Streck of Klahowya finished 33rd (99-93-192) at Hangman Valley Golf Course.
