The Washington State girls and boys golf championships begin Tuesday around the state.

Locally, Brittany Kwon of Central Kitsap will be trying to defend her Class 3A title. Kwon tees off at 7 a.m. at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane along with Adithi Anand of Redmond and Southridge’s Samantha Hui.

Kwon defeated Anand last year to win the 3A championship with a two-day score of 143 to 147. Kwon shot an opening round 66 (77) to take a three-stroke lead over Anand heading into the final day.
