The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced its athlete of the week winners and two West Sound athletes were named for April 29-May 5.
Lily Campbell of North Mason was named for girls track and field in 2A. Aubry Botkin of Port Townsend was named the 1A athlete for girls track and field.
Campbell, a senior, won the shot put, with a throw of 32 feet, the discus (117) and the javelin (127) at the Olympic League championship meet last week.
Botkin, a junior, won the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and the triple jump for the Redhawks. She also ran a leg on the second-place 4×100 relay team. Botkin’s winning time in the 100 hurdles, 15.11 seconds, was a third of a second faster than anyone in the 1A classification.
