This week West Sound SportsPlus Monday Video Profiles are Bremerton senior James Moran, a centerback for the Knights soccer team, and Kingston’s Sarah Bryant, a senior track and field athlete who specializes in the throwing events.
Moran was named a second-team All-Olympic League 2A defender last season and is a team captain. Moran, a California native, plays club soccer for Kitsap Alliance. He is also headed to Grand Canyon University next year to play soccer.
Bryant is among the top 10 in the Olympic League 2A in three events. She is ranked fourth in the discus (91 feet, 7 inches), sixth in the shot put (28-10.5), and 10th in the javelin (79-11, a personal record). She qualified for the state track and field championships last season in the discus and is hoping to qualify in all three disciplines in May.
Bryant, who takes online classes, comes from a family with nine children, all adopted. Bryant also helps take care of one of her sisters, who is disabled and is working on becoming an in-home care provider.
