Kicking off the spring season’s Monday Video Profiles, West Sound SportsPlus features junior Ben Streck of Klahowya and fellow junior Juliana Ignacio of Olympic in our student-athlete spotlights.

Streck plays shortstop and is called upon to pitch for the Eagles as well. Streck, who puts academics above his athletic endeavors, is a member of Klahowya’s math club and National Honor Society. He also leads a student-mentorship for incoming high school students at the secondary school. The program is for students who are struggling in math and science as they transition junior high. Streck’s favorite baseball player is Houston Astros shortstop Jose Altuve.

Ignacio is a varsity golfer for the Trojans and credits her family for getting her involved in playing. Her brother and cousin also play golf at Olympic. Ignacio is a member of the school’s Key Club and volunteers with her church during her free time. She also enjoys spending time with her three dogs and would love to play golf in South America where it’s warm.
