It was two years in the making but the Bremerton Knights busted out of its losing skid with an impressive 10-0 nonleague win over Evergreen on Monday night.
The Knights last win was April 14, 2016 against North Mason 15-14.
Mia Falotico pitched a one-hit shutout and had plenty of help offensively. Battery mate Kaylee Bullard threw out the only runner to reach second base and Precious Stowers scored four runs as the leadoff for Bremerton (1-3 overall). She had a hit, a bunt to first and two walks to get on base in each at bat.
Next up for the Knights is an Olympic League game against Olympic Friday at the Fairgrounds at 4:15 p.m.
Tuesday saw the Olympic Trojans beat the Kingston Buccaneers (0-4, 0-1) in an Olympic League 2A game at the Fairgrounds.
Danielle Snyder struck out 10 batters for Olympic (3-2, 1-1). Kiki Mitchell hit a home run, scored twice and had two stolen bases, drove in three runs and was 2-for-4. Teammate Mo Morris was 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases, and three runs scored. Allannah Mitchell topped off the hitting with a 3-for-4 performance and two RBIs.
Boys Soccer: SK falls to Olympia
South Kitsap’s Colin Nuss scored in the second half but the Wolves lost to Olympia 2-1 in a South Puget Sound League 4A match at South Kitsap Tuesday.
Nuss’ goal gave the Wolves a 1-0 lead at the five-minute mark. Adam Rapacz scored on a free kick for Olympia to tie the game 1-1 and with 13 minutes left the Bears took the lead for good.
