Freshman Kaitlyn Paller set an Olympic College record in the hammer throw Saturday at the PLU Open.
Paller’s throw of 14 feet, 4 inches also qualified her for the Northwest Athletic Conference Championship in May. Her performance placed her fifth. She was also second in the shot put with a throw of 37-7 and had a 115-foot throw in the discus.
Colton Paller, a sophomore, qualified for the NWACs in the discus, shotput and hammer in the opening meet for the Rangers. His discus throw was a winning 162-7. Paller placed fourth in the shot put in 45-2 and sixth in the hammer at 151. He was also seventh in the 100-meter race in 11.5 seconds.
OC’s Koshi Ukai was third in the long jump in 20-1, Isiah Miller had a time of 2:06.96 in the 800, Nicholas Bourgios placed fifth with a time of 11 minutes, 23 seconds in the steeplechase. Erika Hettick was fifth in the 10,000 meter in 46:16, Julia Claeys was eighth in the 800 in 2:40.8, and Dylan McArdle finished the 400-meter hurdles in 1:15.96
