BREMERTON — Just like sharing a room with a sibling, the West Sound Warriors will be happy to not see the Bellingham Blazers anytime soon.

The Warriors lost their weekend series to Bellingham that included coming out on the wrong side of a 5-3 score at the Bremerton Ice Center Saturday night. Bellingham also beat the Warriors 9-5 Friday in a Western States Hockey League Northwest Division game. The two teams will play Sunday at noon to finish the regular season.

The Warriors host a first-round series against the Seattle Totems at 6 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Sunday’s game will be at 7:30 p.m. if necessary.

In both games, West Sound stayed with the Blazers until the third period.

Dmitri Munirov’s second goal of the night tied the game at 3-3 with 4.6 seconds left. The Warriors had been trailing 3-1, but Julius Arikainen added West Sound’s second goal before Munirov tallied late in the period. Ruslan Abyanov assisted on all of West Sound’s goals while Ty-Andrew Traynor and Lauri Hakanen each had assists.

Jamahl Eakett scored the go-ahead goal, on the power play, for Bellingham at the 13:42 mark of the third. The Blazers added an insurance goal at 4:11 by Connar Peers.
