Holly Beaudoin made the semifinals of the 110-pound weight class at Mat Classic XXX Friday and will have a chance to wrestle for a state title on Saturday.
Beaudoin, a sophomore, finished second last season. She will look to make it back to the championship match at the Tacoma Dome after beating Stephanie Becerra of Burlington-Edison in her opening match by a pin at 1:56. Beaudoin followed the win with another pin, this time over Castle Rock’s Kahlee Jacobs at 4:26. Beaudoin will face Kenzie Cormier of Enumclaw in the semifinals.
At 125, Bremerton’s Haley Michaelson advanced to the semis with wins over Jessica Sun of Skyline, 6-2, and Monica Caneles by a pin at 1:15. Michaelson will take on Mya Spencer of Ephrata in the semis.

On the boys’ side, Olympic’s Alec Acfalle made the semis in the 2A 138 weight class. Acfalle won a 7-6 decision in his first match against Gabe Fabian of Selah then defeated Josh Camacho of Washington High by major decision, 14-4.
Olympic’s Kyle Ignacio joined Acfalle in the semis by winning his two matches on the day. Ignacio beat Lorenzo Gonzalez of Ellensburg 5-3 and Washington’s Braxton Seich 12-5 in the 160 weight class.
In Class 4A, South Kitsap placed six Wolves into the semifinals and they lead the team standings with 66 points. Lake Stevens is second with 53.
South semifinalists include Xavier Eaglin (106), Devin Gentz (120), Mason Eaglin (170), Nathan Marin (160), Izaiah Davis (195) and Ethan Fragoso (220).
Wow! Davis and Fragoso both win! That’s 6, S.I.X.!! In the semis tomorrow. Robles and Keyes wrestle later tonight to stay alive for a medal tomorrow.
