This week’s Monday Video Profiles features junior Grace Carson from Bainbridge and Bremerton senior Nathan Rubie in our athlete spotlights.

Carson helped lead the Spartans (13-9) to within one game of the SeaKing District 3A tournament. Carson, who was named a team captain — an honor for the 5-foot-10 post after growing up wanting to play for the Spartans. Carson made varsity her freshman season and has been a major contributor to the team’s success.

Rubie is one of the top swimmers in the area and is ranked No. 1 in the Class 2A 100-yard butterfly heading into the state championships later this week. Rubie, who is likely headed to the University of the Pacific (Stockton, Calif.) to continue his swimming career, also swam at the U.S. Junior National this season. Rubie swims for the Poulsbo Piranhas Swim Team year round.
