South Puget Sound freshman Katie Campana, an Olympic graduate and former All-Olympic League guard, helped to lead the Clippers to a 64-51 win over Skagit Valley Saturday at the SV Holiday Classic tournament.

Campana scored 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five assists, earning the tournament’s All-Star trophy.

Campana is averaging 9.3 points in 12 games this season and is shooting 60.9 percent from the free-throw line. She also has an 6.4 rebound average.

The Clippers (5-7) play at 5 p.m. at Peninsula College Saturday, Jan. 6.

 

CK product Krouse producing for D2 Holy Names

Holy Names University junior Taylor Krouse finished with 11 points, seven in the first half, in a 83-72 loss at Fresno Pacific last Monday in a Pacific West Conference game.

Krouse also had a team-high, and season-high, six assists. The Central Kitsap product is averaging 6.3 points and has started 12 of 13 games and has 2.2 assists per game.

The Hawks (1-12 overall, 0-5 conference) play Chaminade and Hawaii Pacific in Honolulu in PacWest Conference games Jan. 3 and 5.

 

ALSO: Kingston graduate and Highline College sophomore Aileen Kaye is averaging 11 points, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals in 11 games for the Thunderbirds (5-7). … Lily Eckert, a sophomore at Umpqua College and Kingston grad, is averaging 2.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 12 games for the 13-0 Riverhawks. Eckert had a game-high 11 points against SW Oregon on Nov. 25. … In men’s basketball, Bellevue’s Andrew Shaw has a 5.2 average for the Bulldogs (9-3). The freshman has played in 12 games. Shaw had a game-high 18 points in a win over Linn-Benton Nov. 25 and 10 points in a win against Umpqua Dec. 2.
