The Bainbridge Spartans opened the boys swimming season with a convincing 120-61 win over the Garfield Bulldogs Friday.

Bainbridge won all events except one, qualifying numerous swimmers to the Sea-King District meet and state.

The Spartans 200 medley relay of Garrett Waite, Ian Lipton, Makai Ingalls and Andrew Witty qualified for the 3A state meet with a time of 1 minute, 39.43 seconds.

Waite also qualified for state in the 200-yard individual medley in 1:57.94. Ingalls qualified in the 50 free in 22.15 seconds, and the 100 butterfly in 52.31. Waite also qualified in the fly, finishing in second behind Ingalls in 52.62.

Witty won the 100 breaststroke in a state-time of 1:01.55.

Max Eyrich won the 100 free in a district time of 52.54, along with teammate Sam Chapman in the 500 freestyle in 5:04.06. Bainbridge’s 200 free relay won in 1:37.30.

The 400 free relay won in 3:25.24.
