Sebastian Belkin of Bainbridge finished second at the state boys cross country meet while North Kitsap’s Madison Zosa was fifth in the state girls cross country meet Saturday.

Belkin, a junior, finished the 5K course in Pasco in 15 minutes, 22.20 seconds. Zosa, a freshman, finished fifth in the Class 2A meet in a time of 19:03.10.

The Klahowya boys finished 11th in the Class 2A team standings. Lucas Becker was the top finisher for the Eagles, crossing the finish line in 19th place in a time of 16:33.50.

For the girls, Klahowya was 14th overall. The Eagles top placer was Rachel Newhard in 21st place in 19:42.60.

Kingston’s boys placed 13th in the Class 2A meet with North Kitsap finishing 15th. Kingston’s girls finished 16th.

Bainbridge’s boys were eighth in the Class 3A meet with Central Kitsap placing 12th. CK’s girls were ninth as Cougar freshman Maya Nichols was ninth in 18:24.40.

South Kitsap’s girls finished sixth in the Class 4A standings while the boys were 13th. South’s top finisher was Paxton Depoe, a junior who finished in 18:55.30.
