The West Sound Warriors came up two goals short in their comeback, losing to Bellingham 5-4 Friday in a Western States Hockey League Northwest Division game.
West Sound had a 2-1 after the first period, but the Blazers scored four unanswered goals to lead 5-3 after two periods. West Sound’s Erik Safstram scored at the 9:25 mark of the third to cut the Blazers’ lead to 5-4, but that would be it as Bellingham held on for the win.
Harri Kroll finished with two goals for West Sound while Alec Johnson had a goal.
The Warriors travel to Bellingham Saturday for the home-and-home series.
