Girls Swimming: CK’s Sims, Morkert snag SSC3A titles

Central Kitsap’s Taylor Sims and Haley Morkert each won two individual titles and helped the Cougars to two relay wins as Central finished second at the South Sound Conference 3A girls swimming championships Friday.

Sims won the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle and was on the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays at Evergreen State College in Olympia. Morkert claimed the 50 and 100 freestyle events and was a part of the two relays.

Gig Harbor won the team title with 501 points. Central Kitsap finished with 345.5 points.

The West Central District 3A meet is Nov. 3-4 at Foss High (dive) and Mt. Tahoma (swim).
